FBR takes notice of ‘highly extravagant’ Lahore wedding’s video circulating online

FBR has taken notice of a video that allegedly shows the 'highly extravagant' wedding on a Gujrawala industrialist's daughter's wedding

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken into notice a video of a flamboyant wedding in Lahore. The video allegedly shows a prominent Gujrawala industrialist’s daughter’s wedding.

The video, which had been making rounds on social media, is as per the notice issued by the FBR that of Industrialist Sheikh Mehmood Iqbal of Master Tiles’s daughter’s wedding.

FBR serves notice to Gujranwala industrialist 

The notice seeks clarification over the hiring of singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam for the wedding performances. The wedding that took place in Lahore from the 5th to the 7th of November allegedly cost the industrialist a fortune.

The reply to the notice sent by the FBR is sought by November 16th.

Shaniera Akram Laments extravagant weddings on Twitter

“I understand that in the past, big weddings were a thing. But we are mid pandemic; why not take the opportunity and use this time to your advantage?” Shaniera Akram questioned on Twitter last week.

She also recalled getting married to cricket legend Wasim Akram in an intimate ceremony.
