Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol has made significant strides in the fight against transnational crime, as reported on Tuesday.
Arrests Across Borders
In the past six months, FIA-NCB Interpol Pakistan successfully arrested 66 individuals wanted for serious crimes in various countries. These arrests encompassed cases ranging from murder, attempted murder, robbery, kidnapping, to corruption. The agency issued Red notices to facilitate the apprehension of these suspects.
Of the arrested individuals, 50 were sought in murder cases, 5 in fraud and forgery cases, and 4 in robbery cases. Additional suspects were wanted for attempted murder, kidnapping, and corruption charges.
The apprehended suspects were sought by law enforcement agencies such as FIA, NAB, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir Police. Remarkably, arrests were made in countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan. This underscores the global reach and effectiveness of Pakistan’s law enforcement efforts.

Director General FIA, Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, praised the performance of NCB Interpol Pakistan, highlighting its use of modern technology for seamless global connectivity. He emphasized that there is no safe haven for criminals involved in serious offenses, applauding Interpol’s role in sharing vital information.
