Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has confirmed meeting former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Bajwa in Lahore.

Earlier, reports emerged in local media suggesting that the former top general visited the residence of Saqib Nisar, the country’s top jurist who served till January 2019.

According to the reports, they reportedly shared views on political matters in the rare meeting held in Lahore’s Garden Town. It was also reported that it was the first-ever informal interaction between Gen (retd) Bajwa and Justice (retd) Mian Saqib Nisar after leaving the coveted posts.

As the reports made the rounds, both Gen (retd) Bajwa and Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar remained silent, neither confirming, nor denying the meeting. However, it seems that Justice Saqib Nisar finally confirmed to a private media publication that the meeting indeed took place.
