Fox Cricket has taken down the slanderous piece of news targeting Pakistani skipper Babar Azam. A few days back, a social media post had gone unverified accusation against Azam of having multiple girlfriends and having obscene chats with them.
Fox Cricket on its website published a piece of news claiming that Babar was involved in sexting “a teammate’s girlfriend”. Pakistan Cricket Board called out Fox Cricket for sharing unsubstantiated news.
“As our media partner, you might have considered ignoring such unsubstantiated personal allegations which Babar Azam has not deemed worthy of a response,” the board tweeted.
Fox Cricket later deleted the post and news but after almost 12 hours when the story had garnered thousands of views.
An anonymous account had released some old private and allegedly fake screenshots of video calls of Babar Azam on social media. The account accused Babar Azam of slanderous allegations.

The social media post garnered the immediate attention of users. Sports journalists condemned the leaking of the personal stuff of Babar Azam. A majority of his fans had expressed solidarity with him. They called images of chats and videos calls ‘fake’.

The cricketer did not respond to defamatory propaganda. He later posted his picture with a strong message. “Doesn’t take too much to be happy,” said Babar Azam in the Instagram post.
Babar Azam is already going through tough challenges as questions are being raised about his captaincy after Pakistan lost the ODI home series against New Zealand. Media reports PCB is mulling changing the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team.
Some senior cricketers have lent support to Babar Azam including Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram. According to them, Babar Azam should be supported till the upcoming two major ICC events scheduled this year.
