FWO efforts in full swing to complete PM Khan’s housing project

FWO was tasked to prepare the sites and construct small housing units of 3.5 marlas each. Needless to say, FWO is once again sustaining excellence as the organization continues to work with full zeal on the government's low-cost housing project.

Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is making steady progress on the government’s Naya Pakistan Housing Project in Raiwind, Lahore. Once again, FWO proves that the organization is capable of completing projects within the stipulated time.

Last year, PM Khan launched the peri-urban low-cost housing scheme project at Raiwind to be built at 10 sites. The project aims to facilitate low-income groups living in smaller cities and rural areas of the province.

The government tasked FWO, along with National Logistics Cell (NLC) to prepare these sites and construct small housing units of 3.5 marlas each. According to the latest updates, FWO has made remarkable progress on the project.

As per a video uploaded by FWO, block masonry of the houses is underway. Furthermore, work on roof slabs is also in progress, along with the construction of exterior walls.

Moreover, FWO has also begun work on the overhead water tank for the project in Raiwind. Currently, it is constructing the foundation of the tank.

Important to note, FWO plays a commendable role in ensuring the smooth execution of government projects. Last year, Balochistan announced a plan to release Rs 182 billion to FWO for road and dam projects as part of the Southern Balochistan Project (SBP).

Moreover, FWO is also on its way to completing the construction of Pakistan’s mega road project, the Timergara-Khar-Mamad Gat Road (TKMG). According to details, FWO will complete the Rs. 7 billion mega road project by June 2022 as planned by the government.

Punjab peri-urban low-cost housing scheme project

The government of Punjab in collaboration with Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority finalized the project. The residential colonies in the suburbs of cities and rural areas of the province will consist of 100 to 500 housing units.

The Board of Revenue Punjab provided the land for this purpose and also identified 133 sites in 35 districts of Punjab. The government of Punjab provided funds under the first phase for the development of land and infrastructure on these sites.

The federal government is providing subsidies on each housing unit whereas is also making mortgage arrangements under the prime minister’s markup subsidy scheme.
