General Asim Munir Emphasizes Constitutional Boundaries and Peace Efforts

Referring to Article 19 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Asim stated, "It clearly defines the limits of freedom of speech and expression of opinion."

Army Chief General Asim Munir emphasized that those who disregard the “clear restrictions imposed” on freedom of expression in the Constitution should refrain from criticizing others.

Speaking at the Pakistan Air Force’s passing out parade at the Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the army chief stressed the military’s adherence to constitutional limits and its expectation for others to do the same.

As the chief guest at the passing out parade, he praised the professionalism of the PAF, affirming that the force consistently meets the nation’s expectations.

Addressing the cadets, General Asim underscored the pivotal role of a strong air force in safeguarding the country against aggressors. He commended the PAF’s bravery and professionalism, citing the example of February 2019.

Extolling the cadets, the army chief hailed them as the nation’s hope, the defenders of the skies, and the champions of regional unity. He urged them to lead lives marked by character, courage, and competence.

General Asim expressed confidence in the cadets’ unwavering dedication to defending the motherland’s honor and dignity.

He emphasized the military’s expectation for the cadets to embody the nation’s spirit, professionalism, and the enduring tradition of bravery.

Regarding regional peace and security, the army chief cautioned against an arms race that could disrupt the balance of power.

Regarding the situation in Palestine, General Asim condemned the violence in Gaza, particularly the indiscriminate killing of civilians, as indicative of escalating global violence.

Turning to the Kashmir issue, he denounced India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir and criticized the world’s silence on Indian aggression in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom.
