General elections to be held after August 15: Ayaz Sadiq

The first LG elections would be held in April 2023, and general elections will follow in August 2023.

The first local government (LG) elections would be held in April 2023, and general elections will follow in August 2023, according to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN).

At a ceremony conducted in honour of Quaid-i-Azam’s birthday and Christmas on Sunday, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and former Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq made the announcement.

Speaking to the media, Sadiq stated that Imran Khan should have dissolved the assemblies immediately as opposed to providing a deadline if he had desired to do so.

“First he said he will fight his own battle and now he is looking towards the establishment to save him and bring him back to power,” Ayaz said adding Khan took massive loans during his tenure and that loans caused massive inflation in the country.

“Today is the birthday of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and without him there would have been no Pakistan,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said, paying rich tributes to the efforts of Quaid-i-Azam for changing Pakistan from a thought into a reality.

According to him, the state of Pakistan has vowed to preserve the rights of all minorities, including Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, and followers of other religions, who are represented by the white portion of the flag. Today is also Hazrat Isa’s birthday, according to Sardar Ayaz Sadiq (peace be upon him).

“Today is the birthday of Nawaz Sharif who carried forward the tradition of Quaid-i-Azam Muslim League and made Pakistan prosper and stronger by doing nuclear tests,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq maintained.

Elahi was encouraged to separate from Imran Khan and run in the upcoming general elections without him because there would be no support available at that time from any side, according to the federal minister for economic affairs.

He further said that Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi were already fed up with Imran Khan’s behaviour. “Imran was left by the MQM and other parties because of his self-centric political approach.”

In response to a query regarding the recent upsurge in terrorism, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Imran Khan had observed the effects of his talks with the Taliban in that terrorism has resumed in the nation. He insisted that “Imran Khan did not end terrorism but began conversations with those who slaughtered our children.”

According to Ayaz Sadiq, people who chose Imran Khan and installed him as prime minister in 2018 are to blame for the harm done to the nation. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that the trade gap had grown to $45 billion and that it appeared Imran Khan had come to ruin the nation. He claimed that they also stole money from Indians before focusing on the chairman of the Election Commission.

He said Pakistan’s electricity and gas became very expensive due to Imran khan’s policies. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that in 2018, General Bajwa supported Imran Khan while Jahangir Tareen gave MPAs and Aleem Khan gave everything but Imran Khan forgot everything and was talking openly against all the three persons and even cases were filed against Tareen’s wife and daughter.

“I have known Imran Khan’s character since 1960. A person who uses mothers and sisters to take revenge for power is a small person,” he said adding Maryam Nawaz faced cameras in jail.

The election, according to Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will take place in 2023. He declared that local elections would be held in April 2023, followed by general elections on or after August 15.

He said he never took Sheikh Rashid seriously, making fun of Rashid. He questioned why Pervaiz Elahi did not take the vote of confidence on the Governor’s constitutional order if the PTI had declared that their numbers were complete.

Speaking at the event, PMLN leader Khawaja Salman Rafique wondered how the poor would be handled if PKLI did not receive funding. “You are in power, serve the people,” he continued, “why are you in such a hurry to dissolve the assembly.”

Rana Mashhood, vice president of the PMLN, claimed that Pakistan was founded on the Two Nation doctrine during a different occasion. He claimed that Quaid-i-Azam founded Pakistan in order for Muslims to live free lives, and that after his passing, people who looked after the nation were likewise marginalised and political conspiracies were developed. He asserted that Pakistani citizens wanted democracy restored and that elected officials should be given the freedom to make their own decisions.

According to Rana Mashhood, Imran Khan reinstated load shedding and terrorism after the PMLN banned both. As a result of Nawaz Sharif’s economic reforms and large-scale initiatives, foreign investments began to flow into the nation.

“In 2018, Imran Khan was brought to power by stealing the election. During his tenure, horse trading in the Senate was done openly but at that time it was right. Imran Khan himself said there is no better army chief than General Bajwa and now the same General Bajwa is responsible for everything done bad to the country during Imran Khan’s tenure,” he said.
