Turkish hacker Ayyildiz Tim breached the Twitter accounts of actor Anupam Kher, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav and Rajya Sabha member Swapan Dasgupta on Tuesday. Tim made similar attacks on the Twitter accounts of Conservative Politicians of USA last month.
Tim allegedly made a series of Pro-Pakistan and Pro-Turkey tweets in Turkish from Kher’s account, and also the message of ‘Love Pakistan’ appeared from all the three hacked accounts.
The hacker changed the actor’s Twitter handle from “AnupamPKher” to “AnupamPKherTC”, resulting in losing the blue-tick that signifies it as a verified account.
Another tweet from Kher’s account appeared that said: “Your account has been hacked by the Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim. Your DM correspondence and important data have been captured! I Love Pakistan.”

Later on, Kher through a text message informed the ‘Press Trust of India’ about his account being hacked.
He said: “My Twitter account has been hacked. Just got a few calls from friends in India about it. I am in LA and it is 1 am.”
Dasgupta’s and Madhav accounts too remained suspended before being restored.
Another tweet from Kher’s account appeared that said: “Your account has been hacked by the Turkish cyber army Ayyildiz Tim. Your DM correspondence and important data have been captured! I Love Pakistan.”
The hacker quoted Pakistan’s government and ISPR tweets on Kashmir Day with ‘Love Pakistan’ from Dasgupta’s account.
Ayyildiz Tim made several tweets from Madhav’s account that attacked President Trump and his supporters
Soon after, Twitter Support informed that their team is working to restore all three accounts.

“Our teams are working to resolve an issue affecting a small number of Indian users. We will notify affected account holders directly. Reminder: do not click on links in DMs coming from unknown accounts.”
The swift response from Twitter enabled the quick restoration of the accounts, however, it has once again raised questions on the crisis of security protocols that exist within social media applications.
Important figures can extend their outreach to the public through social media applications but its easy-to-break security barriers expose it to the trespassers.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher is a vehement supporter of Narendra Modi’s politics while his wife Kirron Kher, an actress herself is a BJP member of Parliament from Chandigarh.
The 12 million followers on Kher’s account were offended by the alleged pro-Pakistan tweets that appeared on Kher’s account.
In January Ayyildiz Tim hacked the account of former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, a supporter of Trump.

The same group of organized hackers attacked the account of Dore Gold, a former advisor to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They posted a tweet from Gold’s account that said:
“Jerusalem cannot be the capital of Israel!”
