Bushra Maneka, the first lady of Pakistan appeared in her first interview for a local media outlet, ever since her marriage with Imran Khan and also after becoming the first lady of Pakistan. Bushra Maneka was asked multiple questions pertaining to her life after marriage with Imran Khan and her role as the first lady of Pakistan.

Being the first lady of Pakistan Bushra Maneka discussed her visits to the orphanages and old age homes. She expressed her grief over the conditions of governmentally owned shelters. She vowed to work for the betterment of the orphans, senior citizens and oppressed women. To a question, the First Lady said, “Before marrying Imran Khan, people would visit me to seek guidance to be close to Allah Almighty and Prophet (PBUH) but now people come to seek my help to become close to Khan Sahib.”

Bushra Maneka denied several rumors that circulated in media regarding the dissolution of her first marriage and subsequent marriage with Prime Minister Imran Khan. She requested people not to circulate fake news regarding her in the media. Bushra Maneka also took a dig at the detractors of Imran Khan who are extensively criticizing him for failing to fulfill his promises of ‘Tabdeeli’. She praised her husband Imran Khan and asserted that he has no element of greed in him.
“He already has everything and is a well-respected man, why would he greed for anything more.” She said the change Khan wants to bring to the country, “will take time as he does not have a magic wand to fix everything”. “He [Imran] is working tirelessly for the betterment of Pakistan and I hope he will take the country to new heights,” she added.

“I know he [Imran] wants to give back to his country and has no personal interests when it comes to Pakistan,” she said during an interview to Hum News. “I think you need to differentiate between a politician and a leader, Imran is a true leader in modern times. There are only two leaders in the 21st century – Imran Khan and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan” Bushra Maneka said.
She further eulogized her husband, saying” Pakistan is lucky to have Khan Sahib as a leader. “ Bushra Maneka expressed her contentment over life after marriage with Imran Khan. She candidly spoke about the transformations they both went through in this union. She has claimed that as life partners they both have learned from each other.

Bushra Maneka stated she has entered in a new phase of her life. Earlier, she was focused on the spiritual aspect of the religion and spent most of her time in isolation, praying and praising God. She stated Khan has expanded her horizon on religion and she has learned the importance of serving the people of God from Imran Khan.
In her interview, she narrated an incident of both praying together for the rain after she saw Imran Khan in pain for dry plants.
