Maryam Nawaz to leave for Umrah today

Nawaz Sharif is currently living in London in a self-imposed exile. Currently, he is not planning to return to Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif is expected to leave for Saudi Arabia from London on April 11.

Chief Organizer PMLN Maryam Nawaz is flying to Saudi Arabia today to perform Umrah with the family. She is living in Pakistan and will be joining her father Nawaz Sharif for Umrah.

As of now, it is not clear when Maryam Nawaz will return to Pakistan. Sharif’s family is planning to spend the last 10 days of Ramazan in Makkah and Madinah and are expected to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia. Earlier it was reported that the Sharif family was invited by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Maryam Nawaz shared the news of going to Umrah on Sunday while interacting with a video on Sunday on Twitter. The caption of the video posted by a user states, “Deaf and Dumb students want to meet Maryam Nawaz Sharif”.

In reply, the PML-N stalwart wrote: “Pls bring these most special young men to meet me as I come back from Umra Insha Allah. Will be an honor & pleasure”.

Maryam Nawaz visited London last year to meet her father. Maryam Nawaz traveled to London via a private airline flight. She arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport for her flight to London. She stayed in London for more than a month where according to her she underwent a medical checkup.

Speaking to the media, Maryam Nawaz expressed her excitement to meet her father, PML-N supreme leader, and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“I cannot wait for the plane to land [in London] and meet my father,” Maryam said. The PML-N leader had approached the LHC against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) saying despite the absence of any charge sheet against her or trial, she had not been able to exercise her fundamental rights for about four years. Maryam Nawaz’s passport was surrendered to obtain bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
