Singer Meesha Shafi says she did not witness but felt being harassed by singer Ali Zafar. Shafi made these remarks during the second day of cross-examination in the defamation case filed by Ali Zafar.
In the hearing, Shafi said Ali Zafar “groped” her during the rehearsal in December 2017. When asked if it was correct there are no eyewitnesses to the incident, she said: “Yes, even I myself am not an eye witness to this incident. I felt it [but] I did not see it.”
“Did you look behind to see if it was the plaintiff’s hand,” the counsel asked her about the “groping” incident. “There was no other hand near me and it certainly was not my hand,” she responded.

“Is it correct that a drummer was sitting behind you and the plaintiff,” the lawyer asked the singer. Shafi replied that the drummer in the session was quite far away at least “4-5 feet away”.
Zafar’s counsel brought the video of the jamming session and claimed that the drummer was within the three-foot proximity.
Meesha Shafi’s manager gives his statement
Syed Farhan Ali, Meesha Shafi’s manager, recorded his statement in Rs.1 billion defamation case filed by Ali Zafar against Meesha Shafi on sexual harassment accusations.
He was present in the jam session but personally did not witness Ali Zafar harassing Meesha Shafi, said Farhan Ali in his statement recorded before the court.
“I was not focusing on the plaintiff or the defendant. I did go out of the room a couple of times so I cannot confirm whether or not any harassment happened,” he added, clarifying his previous remarks.

He, however, added that after the jamming session Shafi shared with him that she felt uncomfortable with Ali Zafar and that she would not work with him in the future. She told Farhan that Zafar ‘was not a good person’ and that she hates him.
