Muhammad Amir slammed for calling chief selector ‘cheap’

Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Amir receives flak for calling chief selector Muhammad Wasim’s selection of squad ‘cheap’. His statements came following the announcement of teams for the upcoming T20I series against England and the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia next month. Shan Masood has been the new addition to the existing squad for the series.

In a cryptic tweet, he targeted the selection of players of Pakistan Cricket Team selected for for the Asia Cup. His tweet deemed the selection of players was not merit-based but on personal likes and dislikes. “When will we come out from friendship, liking & disliking culture? Allah always helps the honest,” said Shoaib Malik in a tweet.

Former wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal commented on his tweet and asked him not to speak such blatant truths.

Both senior players received flak on social media for thrashing the inexperienced and young Pakistan team instead of supporting them.
