Nawaz unhappy with PML-N leaders for not mobilizing workers on ‘Ehtesab Day’

Following the verdict of the Avenfield case were the voices that were used against Nawaz Sharif in suspicion, as no signs of protests were witnessed.

How the PML-N would react on July 13 would determine party’s support on the ground, as both Shahbaz and Hamza have decided to lead the welcome procession.

As the former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law, Capt. Retd Safdar got convicted, (PML-N) Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz workers were nowhere to be seen on the streets in protest.

In recent political history of Pakistan when a leader like Nawaz Sharif, has been under trial and convicted to such a long sentence, their supporters usually tend to create a fuss.

Sources indicate that Nawaz Sharif expressed his distaste in some of his local representatives, including Tariq Fazal Ch and Hanif Abbasi over the lack of support in his favor after the passed verdict.

Some sources claimed that Nawaz Sharif held telephonic conversations with both the leaders and expressed his anger as to why they failed to mobilize the people in his support.

Those sources also claimed that the leaders gave an excuse, that due to section 144 being imposed, in both the twin cities, they couldn’t hold any protests.

The former PM, Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison, along with an £8 million fine in the Avenfield properties, while his daughter Maryam was sentenced to eight years with a £2 million fine.

In recent political history of Pakistan when a leader like Nawaz Sharif, has been under trial and convicted to such a long sentence, their supporters usually tend to create a fuss.

However not much has changed since this verdict, as life in both the cities remain unchanged, at least from what’s evident so far.

No such notable public agitation was seen, where the people appeared disinterested about what had happened to the leader of a mainstream political party, as of yet.

How the PML-N would react on July 13 would determine party’s support on the ground, as both Shahbaz and Hamza have decided to lead the welcome procession. They have already given call for receiving Nawaz and Maryam warmly.

It will also be a test of the interim government and administration that how they tackle the situation, as there are chances of political tension in the city.
