The local media reported that the father of the girl had hid her school documents and vaccination cards, and obtained a fake birth certificate from the Sheshi Koh Village council, recording her age as above 18 years. The father then obtained her Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) from NADRA on the basis of that birth certificate.
District Administration of Chitral intervened and amended the birth certificate meanwhile, and the marriage registrar also canceled the marriage.
The district administration also urged NADRA to proceed with a case against Golden and Sahar’s father, Azizur Rehman, as per the NADRA 2000 Ordinance for acquiring fake CNIC and hiding the real age of the child as per the school records.

According to official sources, the marriage of Golden with the minor was held in July of last year after which the issue was raised by a local civil society organization at the district administration.
A medical board had sent a letter to the local police to bring the girl for a medical check-up to ascertain her age on Sept 18.
According to the reports, the father failed to produce the girl because Golden had allegedly taken the girl out of the district. The magistrate has even issued their arrest warrants which were challenged by the suspects in the additional district and sessions court.
