His removal will allow Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to appoint a new PCB Chairman under Article 47 of the board’s constitution.

Other media reports claim that Shehbaz Sharif is satisfied with the performance of the Ramiz Raja and he has no plans to remove him.

But report published in local media outlet claims that several people have met PM Shehbaz Sharif including Najam Sethi, Zaka Ashraf, and Khalid Mehmood. It is important to note that no meeting has taken place so far between PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja and PM Shehbaz Sharif.

With the change in the government, a shift in the PCB management was also expected. However, a high-ranking profile supported Ramiz Raja based on his performance which enabled him to retain his position.
