PMLN Senator Sabir Shah faces difficulty in delivering speech in English at a UN session. A video of Sabir Shah circulated on Twitter on Monday showing the senator struggling to deliver a written speech in English.

Senator Shah struggled and stumbled through his speech. The PMLN senator paused several times and cleared his throat several times. Shah took a long time to complete his speech. He repeated sentences in his speech and left out several paragraphs from the speech. Despite taking double the time, Shah could not complete his speech in time.

The Moderator of the UN session rebuked Senator Shah for an irrelevant speech. The moderator asked him to complete the speech in the time since other people had to speak as well.

Senator Shah is present along with four other senators including Farooq Naik, Quratulain Mari Murree, Brahmand Tangi, and Mushtaq Khan.

The President of the UN General Assembly is hosting a quadrennial International Migration Review Forum. The session started on 17th May and will end on 20th May. The session consists of four interactive multi-stakeholder round tables, a policy dialogue, and a plenary.

Senator Shah is receiving flak on social media. Netizens argued that he should have delivered the speech in the Urdu language if he struggled to read and speak English. This could have saved the senator and Pakistan from the embarrassment at the international forum. Others said that a competent legislature should have been sent to represent Pakistan at the UN session.
