The videos were initially uploaded as Instagram stories after from there they got leaked and went viral. The videos attracted mixed reactions from the people. Some people admonished her for partying in a boisterous way while others showed support for her. They argued that the premier also has the right to party like other people.

Sanna Marin has expressed her anger at the leaking of the videos on social media. In her press talk, she admitted to partying in a boisterous way.

“These videos are private and filmed in a private space. I resent that these became known to the public,” Marin told reporters in Kuopio, Finland.

“I spent a night with my friends. We just partied, also in a boisterous way. I danced and sang,” she said.

Her political opponents say her behavior is unbecoming of a prime minister. Some have urged her to undergo a drug test as well.

Marin, responding to these statements said the alcohol was consumed but she does not have any knowledge of the drug being used at the party. Sanna Marin denied the videos are being leaked to blackmail her. “I am not being blackmailed. These are private videos and they were not supposed to be public,” the prime minister said, adding that “they are filmed this summer and in a private home. I am not telling whose home it is.”
