On the occasion, Aun Chaudhry said that the party will disclose their further action plans after discussions. Pertinent to mention, PTI’s estranged leader Jahangir Tareen’s like-minded group summoned a consultative session today to discuss the situation after Usman Buzdar’s resignation.

As intense political developments unfold in Punjab, PTI leaders have reportedly made contact with the Tareen Group. Media reports state that Federal Ministers Fawad Chaudhry and Pervez Khattak contacted Aun Chaudhry, requesting Tareen Group’s support.

After winning PML-Q’s support, the government has directed attention toward the Tareen Group. While talking to Aun Chaudhry, Pervez Khattak said that PTI has accepted their requests, including the “Minus-Buzdar”. Therefore, the Tareen Group should come out in support of the PTI’s decisions.

Pervez Khattak reportedly said that Usman Buzdar has been removed. The government will offer key ministries to the Tareen Group. Moreover, the government will fulfill other requests on a priority basis. Meanwhile, the Tareen Group only has to back PTI and support Ch. Parvaiz Elahi as the next Punjab Chief Minister.

Changing tides for PTI?

Based on the latest developments, it seems as if tides are changing for PTI. Yesterday, Usman Buzdar resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab. Later, PM Khan nominated PML-Q’s Pervaiz Elahi for the Punjab CM post. As a result, PML-Q expressed full support for PTI which is crucial amid the no-confidence motion.

To foil the Opposition’s no-confidence motion, PTI has also been making efforts to win back the Tareen Group’s support. Earlier reports suggested that the Tareen Group will side with the Opposition.

Moreover, the Tareen Group also backed the “Minus-Buzdar” strategy. In fact, several lawmakers belonging to JKT group decided to boycott the Punjab cabinet meeting presided over by then Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

Now with Usman Buzdar out of the way, the government is receiving positive signals from the Tareen Group. According to media reports, the Tareen group has decided to support Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s nomination after Usman Buzdar tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.

Faisal Hayat Jabboana, a spokesperson for the Tareen group, said that members of the Tareen group believe Pervez Elahi to be a reasonable candidate for the chief minister slot. However, the Tareen Group will make the final decision after today’s consultative session scheduled for 6 pm.
