In the latest video that emerged online, Muhammad Rizwan is seen smiling and waving to the hostile crowd chanting Jai Shree Ram.
In the 2023 World Cup cricket match between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, something surprising happened. After Mohammad Rizwan was out, some excited fans started chanting “Jai Shree Ram” as he was leaving the field. This moment was captured on video and became very popular on social media.
The match itself ended with India winning by seven wickets. Pakistan batted first and had a tough time, managing to score only 191 runs. Their promising start took a nosedive when they lost eight wickets for just 36 runs.
Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, played well, scoring 50 runs off 58 balls. Rizwan also made a valuable contribution with 49 runs off 69 deliveries. They had a good partnership of 82 runs for the third wicket, but then things turned around.
Babar got out because of Mohammed Siraj, and Rizwan was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. As Rizwan left the field after his dismissal, some enthusiastic fans in the stadium chanted “Jai Shree Ram” toward him. Despite the loud cheers, Rizwan remained calm, didn’t react, and continued to walk off the field.
Pakistani and Indian social media is abuzz with the hostile attitude of the Indian crowd at Ahmedabad Stadium. Videos of crowd misbehaving with Hassan Ali and other players have gone viral on social media. A lot of Indian cricket fans have denounced the behavior of fans at the stadium.
Pakistan played India in front of a massive Indian crowd with almost no support from Pakistani fans. Only 3 Pakistani fans were spotted in the humongous crowd of more than 1 lac. Pakistan, however, lost badly mainly due to a batting collapse. Pakistan team has headed to Bengaluru to play Australia on October 20th, 2023.
