Shah Rukh Khan gets death threats following the success of Jawan movie

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as “King Khan,” has reportedly received death threats following the remarkable success of his recent film, “Jawan.”

In response to these threats, the Maharashtra government has taken swift action by upgrading Khan’s security to the Y+ category.

The acclaimed actor sought intervention from state authorities after allegedly receiving threats in the wake of the releases of his movies “Pathaan” and “Jawan.”

The heightened security measures come amid widespread acclaim for “Jawan,” a film noted for its rare combination of mainstream Bollywood entertainment and a profound political message.

The movie has sparked discussions about its apparent “anti-establishment” undertones and its call for sensible voting.

On Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, October 2, Shah Rukh Khan paid a heartfelt tribute to the iconic leader, emphasizing the timeless relevance of Gandhi’s teachings.

In an Instagram post, Khan wrote, “Mahatma Gandhi Ji’s teachings are timeless and have underlined the importance of compassion, unity, and love. He taught us how to never lose spirit and heart in the face of adversity. Let’s remember him and celebrate his legacy on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.”

In response to the state government’s directive, the IG VIP Security has upgraded Shah Rukh Khan’s security to the Y+ category. This security will be privately funded, with the actor responsible for covering the associated costs.

Y+ security is typically provided to individuals facing a high threat perception. It includes the deployment of six personal security officers (PSOs) working in three shifts round the clock, along with five armed guards stationed at the person’s residence. Bollywood actor Salman Khan also enjoys Y+ security due to threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Shah Rukh Khan’s action-packed thriller “Jawan” achieved remarkable success, grossing Rs 1103.27 crore at the worldwide box office, as announced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house. The film, directed by Atlee, made history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 1100 crore mark globally.

According to the makers, “Jawan” earned Rs 733.37 crore in the domestic market and Rs 369.90 crore in the overseas market. The film particularly excelled in the Hindi belt, amassing a net collection of Rs 560.03 crore.

“Jawan” narrates the emotional journey of a man determined to rectify societal wrongs. Shah Rukh Khan portrays dual roles, Vikram Rathore and his son Azad, with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi as co-stars, and Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances. The film also features a talented ensemble cast including Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, and Mukesh Chhabra.
