Shoaib Akhtar spoke in favor of Pakistani bowler Muhammad Hasnain after Australian cricketer Marcus Stoinis disrespected the bowler during The Hundred cricket match.
Hasnain claimed the wicket of Marcus Stoinis in the match after which he disrespected the bowler. Stoinis gestured that Hasnain was chucking while making his way back to the pavilion. His action suggested that Hasnain was cheating in the match.
According to the latest update, Hasnain has cleared his bowling action after objections were raised about his action during the Big Bash League earlier this year. His new bowling action was given a green signal by PCB and ICC this year. Hasnain was even stopped from playing the Pakistan Cricket League matches as well.
Shoaib Akhtar was upset with the gestures of the Australian player. He expressed his disapproval and anger in the tweet. The former Pakistani pacer called it ‘shameful’.

“Shameful gesture by Marcus Stoinis regarding bowling action of Mohammad Hasnain during The Hundred 2022. How dare you do such things? Of course, ICC stays quiet about them. No player should be allowed to do such a thing if someone’s been cleared already,” wrote Akhtar.
According to the latest update, Stoinis is expected to avoid formal sanctions. Match referee Dean Cosker spoke to Stoinis following the match. He will not be charged formally for violating ECB’s disciplinary code.
Shoaib Akhtar received praise and appreciation from Pakistani cricket fans for speaking up in favor of Muhammad Hasnain who, they think, was unduly targeted by Australian batter. Shoaib Akhtar has recently undergone knee surgery and is recovering.
Replying to his tweet, Hasnain thanked Shoaib Akhtar for supporting him. “Thank you Shoaib Bhai for supporting me. @shoaib100mph,” said Hasnain.
Pakistani cricket fans also showed support for Muhammad Hasnain on social media.
