Spat Between Sher Afzal Marwat and Salman Ahmad Unfolds on X

The exchange highlights tensions within PTI and underscores the power dynamics at play within the party's ranks.

A social media feud has erupted between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat and Salman Ahmad, a close aide to party founder Imran Khan, on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The spat began when Salman reposted a message questioning Marwat’s intentions and suggesting that Khan had rightly sidelined him from the party. Salman labeled Marwat a “wrong number,” akin to former PTI leader Khurram Hameed Khan Rokhri, who was previously suspended after exposing certain aspects of the party.

Salman’s posts on the platform included remarks such as: “And Mr @sherafzalmarwat you took undue advantage of your leader. @ImranKhanPTI has rightfully sidelined you. Like Khurram Rokhri, you are also a wrong number.” Additionally, he wrote: “If all true supporters of @ImranKhanPTI keep their eyes and ears open, IK will be among us sooner than later.” He urged for continued pressure both internally and externally.

Marwat, instead of directly responding to Salman’s posts, reposted his own response on the platform, accusing Salman of seeking attention through controversy. He wrote: “Mr Salman Ahmad: Your tweet reflects your true colors and intellectual capacity. Such tweets makers try to earn attention and following at the cost of controversies.” Marwat warned that individuals like Salman would face consequences from his social media team, composed of experts, hinting at action to be taken by April 5th.

Salman, undeterred, continued the argument by responding to Marwat, stating: “Only those who are afraid of the truth resort to threats. My leader is @ImranKhanPTI. He has recognized you. You are no longer reliable.” He then mentioned that he had unfollowed Marwat.
