T20 World Cup trophy revealed; Ramiz and Babar discuss the tournament

T20 World Cup trophy was unveiled in Dubai. Ramiz Raja met Babar Azam prior to the mega-event and granted him the freedom to choose his team but has demanded results from the skipper. Raja also declared no compromise on fitness.

The T20 World Cup trophy 2021 has been unveiled in Dubai. Secretary to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jay Shah revealed the T20 World Cup trophy for the mega-event, along with several other dignitaries and ICC officials.

The event was originally staged to be played in India, however, due to the rise in Covid-19 cases and the continuous lockdown, BCCI had to reconsider and move the tournament to Dubai and Oman. The event will begin from 17th October. Ramiz Raja gave permission to Babar Azam to choose his own team and not to compromise on fitness.

Ramiz Raja met Babar Azam on Wednesday, to discuss the team selection ahead of the T20 World Cup.

According to sources, Ramiz has been quoted to say “You [Babar Azam] are free to pick a team for the World Cup, whoever you want, I need results, no one will interfere in the selection matter but there will be no compromise on fitness.”

Babar thanked the newly appointed chairman and promised to come up with results in the tournament.

During the meeting, the two also discussed squad for the series against New Zealand as well as issues related to domestic cricket.

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s interview about getting married

Star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi recently gave an interview to a local newspaper where he said he is in no hurry to get married at the moment. Shaheen is engaged to Shahid Afridi’s daughter and recently the rumors were circulating that Shahid Afridi has gifted a bike to Shaheen. However, it turns out that the bike, Kawasaki H2R, was imported by Shahid Afridi’s cousin and both Shaheen and Shahid were present at the time of its arrival as guests.
