“Since the beginning of the aggression against the Arab Gulf countries, based on the aggressor’s miscalculation in viewing them as the weakest link in a war we have tried to avoid, it has become clear that we are all targeted,” Gargash wrote on X.

The Saudi airport attacks claimed by Yemen’s Houthis undermined the security of the entire region, he said.

“It is necessary to revive joint action by the Gulf countries, particularly in security and defence, and to strengthen the collective security system,” he added, arguing that “there has been a grave shortcoming, which has encouraged others to encroach upon us”.

One person was killed and 11 others were wounded in a fresh attack on Sunday at the airport, Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said.
