Using madrassa students is not politics but mischief – Fawad Chaudhry

In an interview, Fawad Chaudhry called out Maulana Fazlur Rehman, whose party is often accused of bringing madrassa students to the rallies, and said madrassa children are not a political capacity but a capacity for mischief. The comment did not go well with Netizens who criticized Fawad Chaudhry and his comments.

Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry accused Maulana Fazlur Rehman of using madrassa children for the PDM rally. He said bringing madrassa children is not a political capacity but a capacity for mischief.

During an interview, Fawad Chaudhry was asked about PDM’s political capacity. Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced on Sunday’s PDM rally in Karachi that the party will march towards Islamabad.

On this Fawad Chaudhry said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has no political capacity. He has only the capacity for violence. Furthermore, Fawad Chaudhry said that using madrassa children does not count as a political capacity.

“Bringing madrassa children is not political capacity. That is a capacity for mischief,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

Fawad Chaudhry also said Fazlur Rehman can not win his own seats. There are still elections in 11 or 12 hundred seats all over Pakistan but his own party has only 30 or 35 seats.

Fawad Chaudhry’s comment on madrassa children did not go well with netizens. To them, it was unfair of the minister to single out madrassa children. They claimed that the government expresses appreciation when such children join forces. However, there are objections if the youth of madrassa take part in politics.

Government against Madrassa students taking part in protests

The incumbent government is strongly against madrassa youth taking part in politics. Earlier this year, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed warned that the government would take action against madrassas if their students were brought to PDM protests.

“I am not afraid. You come with enthusiasm. I want every party worker and leader to be safe. However, if the children of madrassas are brought, the law will come into force. If the children of madrassas are used for politics, the law will prevail,” Sheikh Rashid had said.
