Video of salute to doctors goes viral on social media

Lahore Police gave the hospital staff guard of honor and presented bouquets to the hospital staff in a bid to acknowledge their services and bravery in treating coronavirus patients.

A video of salute to doctors and distribution of masks by ASP Zohaib and SHO Mian Khurram Shahzad went viral on social media on Friday.

Social media users from all over the world appreciated the positive role of Islamabad Police against the pandemic.

After the video went viral on the internet, Islamabad Police IG Amir Zulfiqar Khan has ordered police officials to salute the doctors and paramedic staff fighting novel coronavirus with passion, without caring for their own lives.

The Islamabad police have also launched an awareness campaign on handwashing and other precautionary measures against the incurable deadly coronavirus.

He also directed the police officials to cooperate with doctors and paramedic staff, terming them Heroes in the fight against the deadly pandemic.

Meanwhile, Lahore Police also gave a guard of honor to doctors and paramedic staff and doctors treating coronavirus patients at Mayo Hospital Lahore.

On Friday, different squads escorted by senior officials visited hospitals in Lahore to offer salutations to the doctors and paramedic staff.

SP Dolphin Squad Ayesha Butt visited Ganga Ram Hospital while another squad led by SP City Raza Safdar Kazmi visited Mayo Hospital Lahore, SP Model Town Asad Muzaffar led the squad at Services Hospital Lahore and ASP Raiwind Circle Raza Tanveer to Sharif Medical Complex.

In Pakistan, three doctors have reportedly contracted the disease while treating coronavirus patients. Two doctors from Gilgit-Baltistan have reportedly contracted the disease, one of whom, Dr. Usama Riaz passed away after his condition worsened.

Another doctor from Gilgit-Baltistan is in quarantine after being tested positive for coronavirus. Reportedly, a doctor at the Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad is also said to be affected by a coronavirus.
