In a bizarre turn of events at the Islamabad High Court (IHC), senior lawyer and former Governor of Punjab, Latif Khosa, found himself in an unexpected situation as he became trapped inside an elevator. The legal team of PTI Chairman Imran Khan was also present.
The incident, which took place earlier today, added an element of drama to the already charged atmosphere surrounding the court premises due to the ongoing legal proceedings involving former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
As the legal battle for Imran Khan’s Toshakhana case rages on, the spotlight unexpectedly shifted to Latif Khosa when he became stuck inside an elevator at the Islamabad High Court. Videos of the incident are going viral on social media.
According to the details, as the hearing for the Toshakhana case ended, Latif Khosa took the elevator. However, the elevator became stuck and the senior lawyer, along with other lawyers and journalists, was trapped inside for more than half an hour.

The IHC administration came to the rescue and tried to open the elevator. Fortunately, the “rescue mission” was successful and Latif Khosa and other lawyers and journalists safely got out. During the entire ordeal, concerns were raised for Latif Khosa’s health.

The IHC is expected to announce a decision in a case pertaining to the suspension of PTI chief Imran Khan’s three-year jail term in the Toshakhana case, as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to conclude its arguments today.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Thursday put off proceedings regarding the Toshakhana case till the decision of the IHC, saying it did not want to “duplicate the proceedings”.
During Thursday’s proceedings, the PTI chairman’s lawyer Latif Khosa argued before an IHC division bench consisting of Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, focusing on three aspects: the release of Mr Khan owing to a short sentence, jurisdictional defects, and improper authorisation by the ECP.
