The bizarre wedding ceremony of Ira Khan, daughter of famous Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, has shocked the internet.
Expecting a more traditional wedding, social media users did not expect the groom Nupur Shikare to appear for his wedding reception in a plain vest paired with shorts. The wedding ceremony was not as grand as close friends and family members attended it.
The ex-wives of Amir Khan, Reena Khan, and Kiran Rao attended the wedding. Sons Junaid and Azad were also present.
The couple had been dating for three years and got engaged in November 2023. The couple signed a marriage contract. Before coming to attend the event, Nupur Shikare was seen jogging from his residence in Santacruz to the wedding venue.
A video of him jogging to the event went viral on social media. Ira was spotted in a traditional outfit.
Many people on the internet reacted to the choice of clothing. “Looks like NUPUR ji directly came from gym for the wedding,” said a user.

“He doesn’t know how to dress up for wedding.” commented a third person. “Gym trainer’s wedding,” added another user.
“Everyone except groom is dressed for wedding function,” said a person. Another wrote, “Sherwani ke paise bach gaye”.
Subsequently, the pair participated in a photo session, during which Ira Khan appeared stunning in an elegant traditional outfit featuring light pink and blue hues. Mr. Shikhare accompanied her, complementing her attire with a stylish blue kurta.
A second wedding celebration is scheduled for the couple in Udaipur on January 8, with a lavish reception to follow in Mumbai on January 13.
The couple formalized their marriage by completing the registration process and exchanging vows on Wednesday. In a video circulating online, Ira confidently took the stage and addressed the assembled crowd, stating, “I officially accept Nupur Shikhare as my husband.” Nupur, in turn, expressed his commitment by declaring, “I, Nupur Shikhare, formally take Ira Khan as my wife.”
