PMl-N legislature, Maiza Hameed compares Maryam Nawaz to late royal Princess Diana. In a tweet, on Thursday while expressing her adulation for Maryam Nawaz, Hameed called her ‘people’s princess’.
She likened Maryam Nawaz to Princess Diana in terms of the turmoil and challenges she is facing. “Just like #Diana who did not become the people’s princess overnight so too @MaryamNSharif achievements, her time in jail, her constant contact with pmln workers through thick and thin, her empathy is what has made her so beloved today!” wrote Hameed in her tweet.

Internet users, however, posted hilarious comments under her tweet. Some jeered the female leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for coming up with bizarre thoughts on a social media platform. Others tagged proactive party member, Hina Parvaiz Butt, who had compared Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Sharif to a swashbuckling, warrior Ertugrul- a titular character from smashing Turkish TV series, Dirlis Ertugrul.

Hina Parvez Butt, MPA of PMLN, had compared the protagonist Ertugrul to Maryam Nawaz. She likened the leadership qualities of the senior leader Maryam Nawaz-daughter of Nawaz Sharif, to Ertugrul in a tweet that drove Twitter into a frenzy.

The young MPA said she is watching the series these days. So, she sensed a striking similarity between the leadership qualities of Ertugrul-protagonist in popular Turkish serial Dirilis Ertugrul and Maryam Nawaz.

Hina Parvez Butt confronted mockery on social media for her amusing comments. However, this is what Hina Parvez Butt believes. Her tweet reflected the tenacity of her conviction on Maryam Nawaz. Also, not only Hina Parvez Butt but other PMLN legislatures are comparing their leadership to Ertugrul.

Hina Parvez Butt received flak for her tweet comparing Maryam Nawaz to Ertugrul. She pivoted back to respond to her critics. She said her tweet on Maryam Nawaz and Ertugrul irked the detractors.
