Ali Amin Gandapur faces assassination attempt?

The former federal minister said one of his guards got injured, while two others went missing along with his security vehicles. Ali Amin Gandapur alleged that the attack was from Punjab police. 

The alleged assassination attempt on PTI leader and former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur has sparked concern among the PTI ranks, including the public.

According to the details by Ali Amin Gandapur, he came under a gunfire attack at least three different locations while on his way from Punjab to KP.

The former federal minister said one of his guards got injured, while two others went missing along with his security vehicles. Ali Amin Gandapur alleged that the attack was from Punjab police.

On the other hand, the Bhakkar police told the media that Ali Amin Gandapur caused a ruckus over being stopped for checking at the Dajal checkpost in Bhakkar district.

Police said that at the checkpost on the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, all the vehicles have to be checked before entry. However, Ali Amin Gandapur resisted checking and caused a ruckus.

Moreover, the police also alleged that Ali Amin Gandapur and his gunmen of fired shots at the policemen and fled the scene. Bhakkar police said that the DPO had also reached the spot on being informed of the incident.

Since PTI leaders are facing an intense crackdown by the Punjab caretaker government, it remains unclear who fired the shots first. The incident is being reviewed by the DPO. Nevertheless, the idea that another PTI leader has faced a possible assassination attempt has sparked concern on social media.

Following the recent Zaman Park clashes between PTI workers and police authorities, the government has intensified its crackdown on PTI. The houses of party leaders and workers are being raided as police have prepared a list of 1,000 people, as per a PTI alert.

Several PTI leaders had been arrested during police crackdowns in Islamabad and Lahore late Sunday night. Islamabad and Lahore police forces conducted raids at the houses of PTI leaders. The house of PTI central leader Shafqat Mahmood was also raided in Lahore’s Defence area.
