Pakistani singer Asim Azhar in his tweet clarified that he never called Meerub Ali his sister following the announcement of their engagement.
The couple was speculated to be dating, however, both denied being together. The couple broke the news of their engagement on Sunday and shared the same post on their social media accounts. The pair wrote, “Shukar Alhamdulillah [Thank you, God]. With the grace of Allah Almighty and our parent’s duas, we announce our Imam Zamin – engagement. May Allah SWT and Ahlebait keep us protected and this happy forever, Aameen. Keep us in your prayers.”
Asim Azhar is a renowned singer while Meerub Ali is a model who made her acting debut in ongoing Sinf-e-Aahan alongside Yumna Zaidi, Sajal Aly, and Kubra Khan.

Never called Meerub a sister
A few hours later after the news of their engagement, the singer clarified that he never called Meerub his sister. “To all reposting a screenshot of a “news channel” that said I had labelled Merub as my sister bec of a fake chat a fan had made, I clarified it a year ago. reminder since this is a beautiful moment of my life that I want to cherish. Doosre ki khushi mai khush hona chahiye,” wrote Asim Azhar in a tweet.

He also re-shared his earlier post regarding the rumors about their relationship made last year. “Dear fans, The screenshot floating around of my chat with a fan is FAKE. I request all to not spread it any further. Also, any announcement regarding my life will be made from me directly to you like always. I love you guys, Asim,” read the post.
