Dale Steyn slams PSL 6 commentator for ‘mid-life crisis’ remarks

Steyn has been playing from Quetta Gladiators in PSL 6. Doull had passed the comments during the team’s match against Peshawar Zalmi.

South African cricketer Dale Steyn slammed Pakistan Super League commentator Simon Doull who passed ‘mid-life crisis’ remarks on the cricketer during the commentary of the match.

Steyn has been playing for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 6. Doull had passed the comments during the team’s match against Peshawar Zalmi. The commentator had passed comments on his long hairstyle. Steyn was shown on-screen sitting in the dressing room during the match when commentators including David Gower passed unpleasant comments on him.

Later, Steyn took to Twitter and voiced his disapproval of the discussion on him on screen by the commentators. Steyn, first asked which commentator had passed mid-life crisis remarks on him.  “Question Which commentator said I have a mid-life crisis?,” wrote Steyn in a tweet.

Later in his two tweets he lashed out the commentators and said that he has “no time for you as a human” if commentators start talking about cricketers’ personal life or appearance. “If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse anyone for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle, etc, or even hairstyles, then I’m afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair,” Steyn said in his first tweet.

“That’s all I have to say. It was a great time last night, fantastic to play in front of crowds again, cricket is so much better that way. We lost but hope to pull it together in our remaining games. Thanx for the support. Have a great weekend everyone,” he said in his second tweet.

On February 21st, he had arrived in Pakistan to join his team in PSL 6. This is his maiden season and he hopes to make his team win the rest of the matches in the tournament.
