Designer Khadija Shah surrenders to Police

Shah, a famous designer, and creator of fashion brand Elan, was a prime suspect in the attacks on Jinnah House Commander in Lahore following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by NAB.

Designer Khadija Shah has surrenders to Punjab Police days after evading arrest on the May 9th protests.

Shah, a famous designer, and creator of fashion brand Elan, was a prime suspect in the attacks on Jinnah House Commander in Lahore following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by NAB.

Shah was on the run ever since she was named among the suspects. The famous designer turned into the Crime Investigation Agency Iqbal Town station in Lahore and surrendered. Police have also confirmed her arrest.

According to unconfirmed media reports, Khadija Shah will be granted bail after being presented in court.

Khadija Shah is the daughter of former finance minister Salman Shah. She had been on the run and had deactivated her Twitter account. Media reports suggest that she has allegedly decided to surrender herself to the police.

A purported audio clip assumed to be of Khadija Shah is making rounds on social media. Voice in the audio clips tells the hardships and struggles she faced for the past few days and expressed her inability to endure the situation any further.

In the audio clip, Khadija Shah says, “They invaded my house at midnight and abducted my father, brother, and husband,” she said.

She said that her father, a diabetic patient, and her brother and her husband are in captivity. She added they were also about to arrest her sister and sister-in-law. Shah said that none of her family members and herself have committed any crime. She, however, does not want any harm inflicted on her family members because of her.

She is also the daughter-in-law of Lt. Gen retd Asif Nawaz Janjua. Police have not confirmed or denied the reports of her arrests.

She is among the many suspects booked under the cases of vandalism on May 9th in Lahore and other cities in Pakistan.
