Don’t test my patience: Shaheen Afridi warns PCB

On March 29, the PCB replaced Afridi with Babar Azam as captain for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, citing it as a "strategic move" aimed at ensuring player well-being and performance.

Star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi appears to be expressing discontent over his removal as captain of the national T20I team, sharing a cryptic Instagram story warning against pushing him too far.

In his recent Instagram story, Afridi posted a video with a message implying a warning: “Never put me in a position where I have to demonstrate my ruthlessness. Don’t test my patience because although I may be known for my kindness, once provoked, I can surprise everyone with my actions.”

On March 29, the PCB replaced Afridi with Babar Azam as captain for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, citing it as a “strategic move” aimed at ensuring player well-being and performance. The decision was explained as part of the PCB’s commitment to safeguarding players’ longevity, particularly fast bowlers.

It’s noteworthy that Afridi was appointed as T20 skipper after Babar resigned from the role in November 2023, following the team’s underwhelming performances in the 2023 Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
