E-Rozgar programme provides training to over 31000 youngsters

According to Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, the government is focusing on the promotion of the IT sector to enhance efficiency, transparency, and good governance.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has revealed that more than 31 thousand youth, 54 per cent women have been provided training through E-Rozgar programme. She stated that the government is focusing on the promotion of the IT sector to enhance efficiency, transparency, and good governance. IT-based reforms initiated by the government have also improved performance and increased revenue collection.

E-Rozgar scheme was launched by the CM keeping in mind the needs of the present day and is a revolutionary step for the welfare of the general public, said SACM. She further said that the provision of quality education and health facilities along with employment opportunities is among the priorities of the government.

The E-Rozgar program is providing freelance training to needy youth to make while working online from their home. This programme has been started in collaboration with Youth Affairs Department and PITB to empower the youth, she said.

The SACM further disclosed that 4 thousand applicants are under training, adding that three months free of cost training is provided and 31 centers are operational in different institutions including 5 for female students.

The youth have earned 3.5 billion rupees revenue after learning freelancing through this programme, she added. Youth of up to 35 years of age and a master’s degree can benefit from this scheme to become independent, said Awan.

The SACM said the government is working on a war footing basis and e-commerce has been made a part of e-rozgar training. She said that provision of freelance training to 71 thousand youth and establishment of 45 training centers is part of future target as more than 31 thousand students have been given training including 54 percent women.

Last month, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti launched the first Newsletter of Punjab E-Rozgar Programme at a ceremony at SBP e-Library Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

The launching of Punjab e-Rozgar Programme’s Newsletter is a signficant development and the success stories of e-Rozgar Programme and e-Rozgar freelancers will be highlighted appropriately in the Newsletter, said Taimoor. “Providing sufficient opportunities to potential youth to grow in their respective careers is the top priority of our government,” he said.

Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti also announced an e-Commerce programme that would be initiated soon. “Hopefully, this programme will bring revolution in the field of e-Commerce. Through this programme, our youth can excel in the international market and earn millions of rupees”.
