FWO dozers help open up Murree Expressway

FWO has sprung into action and is quickly clearing roads. According to updates, FWO successfully cleared Murree Expressway and Jhika Gali-Gharial Road. Troops are opening roads at Bahara Kahu and providing necessary food items to the masses.

In a remarkable effort, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) helped clear Murree Expressway. FWO brought in heavy machinery and bulldozers to remove the snow from the roads, allowing safe evacuation.

Earlier today, 21 people died in Murree as heavy snow trapped them in their vehicles. The tragedy occurred as tens of thousands of visitors thronged Murree to enjoy the snowfall. However, the extreme weather stranded the tourists and their vehicles.

The government immediately announced an emergency situation and mobilized all authorities for a rescue operation. The federal government called on five platoons of the Pakistan Army, including the Rangers and Frontier Corps for evacuation.

As a result, FWO also sprung into action and is quickly clearing roads. According to updates, FWO successfully cleared Murree Expressway and Jhika Gali-Gharial Road. Troops are opening roads at Bahara Kahu and providing necessary food items to the masses.

On the other hand, the Army established four camps at various locations to provide relief to stranded tourists in the snow-hit areas of Murree and Galiyat.

The Army had established four camps at Military college Murree, Jhika Gali, APS Kuldana, and Station supply Depot Sunny Bank. Additionally, food, water, tea, and other essentials are being provided to tourists stranded in traffic.

FWO paving way for safe travel

Important to note, FWO remains committed to the people of Pakistan with speedy execution of tasks. Earlier, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) was blocked at two locations due to the heavy snowfall in Gilgit Baltistan. However, FWO tirelessly worked for 5 days to clear the road and keep it open for traffic.

Similarly, the Jaglot Skardu Road also faced blockades at certain locations due to landslides. However, FWO managed to clear the road, allowing commuters to reach their destinations as soon as possible.
