Girl allegedly shot dead in Faisalabad for refusing marriage proposal

In broad daylight, a boy shot dead a girl in Faisalabad for refusing his marriage proposal. However, after shooting the girl, the girl's mother single-handedly grabbed the boy and made him drop his gun.

A girl has been allegedly shot dead in Faisalabad for refusing to marry a boy. The boy shot the girl while she was going with another woman, probably her mother.

The horrific video shows the boy shot dead the girl while her mother caught the boy. Initially, no one came to help the mother and daughter. The mother bravely fought the boy and caught him. Following her, another passer-by controlled the boy. People then handed him over to the police.

Reactions poured in as soon as the video went viral on social media. A score of social media users slammed the people for not coming to the rescue of the mother and daughter immediately. A man on a bike across them watched the dead girl without helping her as her mother struggled hard to apprehend the boy.

The mother attacked the boy as soon as he opened the fire on the girl, grabbed him, and made him drop his gun, single-handedly. Social media users praised the bravery of the mother but also slammed the boy for taking the life of the girl.

So far, Police have not given the official confirmation of the boy’s arrest. Details are expected to come in the following days.

Lately, Police in Pakistan has been swiftly responding to cases of injustices against women. Recently, the Police arrested two brothers for brutally beating sisters in a viral video for asking for a share in the property. Capital City Police arrested the men in Peshawar. During interrogation, men confessed to beating the sisters for demanding a share in their ancestral home.

The video was posted by one of the woman’s son on social media. He tweeted: “Today my maternal uncles attacked my mother when I and my brother were not home.”

Quick response by Punjab Police 

Punjab Police also arrested a man filming videos of girls passing streets without their consent on TikTok. The man posted the videos of the girls on the video-sharing app. Some of the videos showed him harassing the girls in the video.

The video showed him making lewd expressions at girls crossing the street without any fear. Social media activist-turned-anchorperson Maleeha Hashmey posted the video on her Twitter account and demanded the authorities to take action against the boys in the video.

Swift actions from law enforcement agencies are needed to deter potential criminals from targetting women and make public places safer for women.
