Bykea, a widely-used riding application, came under the attack of hackers on Tuesday after users started receiving extremely unethical and distasteful messages from the riding application.
“We apologize for the inappropriate messages sent through Bykea. We can confirm that this was a third-party communication tool that got compromised,” the company said in a statement.
Later on, the company took on the application and informed its users that they have corrected the error. The company claimed that it has recovered the application and it is fully restored.
“If users are facing any issues, they can reach us through our helpline,” the statement mentioned.

Talking to a local media outlet, Bykea Chief Operating Officer Rafiq Malik said that the company is further investigating the vendors who accessed the API.
“Tokens have been changed, and APIs have been disabled for now. The app is safe to use,” the official said.

Bykea is successfully running its operations in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Wah.
