Hamdard Public School recently hosted the 21st Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Memorial Inter-School Championship. The football matches started a couple days ago at Bilawal Stadium, Madinat al-Hikmah, Karachi.
The championship was supposed to start with a match between Hamdard Public School and Karachi Public School. But the latter team didn’t reach on time, so the match was played between Hamdard Public School and SOS Harmain Public School. The Hamdard boys won this match with a margin 6-0. The second match was played between Ghulaman-e-Abbas school and Al-Khair School and won by Al-Khair School by 1-0.
Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan gave away the winner trophy and the runner up trophy, along with cash prizes of Rs 30,000 and 20,000 respectively to the winner and runner up teams
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and former Captain of Pakistan National Team, Ali Nawaz Baloch said that the sports created discipline and decision making power among the children. Hakim Said, the founder of Hamdard Public School was himself a sport man and lover of football game, he added.
Senator Taj Haider, while paying tribute to Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, said that he was a good player of tennis and they (he and Hakim Saheb) used to play tennis together at cosmopolitan club, Karachi. The solution of our all economic and socio-political problems was education, education, and education only, he asserted.

Besides, Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation and Prof. Dr. Shabeeb ul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Hamdard University, teachers and students in a large number attended the opening ceremony of Football Championship 2019.
After several rounds between all the participating teams, yesterday, the final match of the Hakim Mohammed Said Inter-school Football Championship 2019 was held between the teams of Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School. Hamdard Public School beat the four-year champion team with a margin 4-1. A total of eight teams of different schools participated in the championship.

Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan gave trophies to the winners and the runner up team, along with cash prizes of Rs 30,000 and 20,000 respectively. Professor Dr. Shabeeb ul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Hamdard University, and a guest, Shahnawaz Khan also gave cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively to each team.
