Pakistani actress Hira Mani is receiving flak on social media after she said she wishes Dua Zehra and Zaheer are never separated. She posted these comments on her Instagram story after which the actress started receiving backlash from netizens.
Netizens called her out for passing irresponsible statements on social media regarding a sensitive and complex case. The case is of child marriage and possible abduction hence people found her statements problematic and irresponsible.
Twitter users voiced their disappointment regarding her statements. “Somebody please take away Hira Mani’s social media please. Majority of the Pakistani celebrities are good for nothing but crying in front of the camera over divorce or marriage only. That’s that! @HiraManii #hiramani #DuaZehra,” said journalist Natasha Rehman on Twitter.

“Hira Mani, I urge you to please stop misusing your fame and read before giving your opinions. This is highly irresponsible coming from you – an underage marriage, proof that Zehra was abducted, there’s enough evidence for you to not romanticize this,” said another Twitter user Manal Faheem Khan.

Her statement came after The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered to transfer of Dua Zahra — the teenager who had mysteriously disappeared from Karachi in April — to Karachi. A two-member bench of the SHC, headed by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro, heard the case and will announce the verdict today.
Zaheer Ahmed, the 21-year-old who is accused by Dua’s father of kidnapping her, was also produced before the court after orders for his arrest were given. According to the details, Justice Kalhoro remarked that Dua Zahra must be brought to Karachi and the case will be heard here as she went missing from this city.
On the other hand, Zaheer Ahmed’s lawyer claimed that Dua Zahra cannot be shifted to Karachi or forced to meet anyone if she doesn’t want to. However, the judge hit back by saying that Dua Zahra’s statement has no legal value as she has been declared a minor.
