Twitter users are demanding the arrest of Dua Zehra’s husband Zaheer Ahmed after the latest medical report revealed her true age. #ArrestZaheer is among the top Twitter trends in Pakistan.
Earlier, the medical board’s report of ossification and dentition evaluation performed on Dua Zehra stated the age of the teenager— who had gone missing from her Karachi residence in April but was later found to have married Zaheer Ahmed in Lahore — to be between 15 or 16 years. A ten-member medical board on Monday submitted the report determining Dua Zehra’s age.
This is a huge development as Dua Zehra’s age is of paramount importance to her case. What was being considered a kidnapping case turned out to be a case of an elopement as Dua Zehra claimed that she ran away to marry Zaheer Ahmed. On the other hand, her parents insist that she has been kidnapped and her marriage is illegal due to her young age.

The curious case of Dua Zehra’s age
Dua Zehra claimed that she is eighteen years old meanwhile her parents said she is fourteen years old. Dua’s father also showed official documents revealing her young age. However, an ossification test carried out on Dua Zehra last month revealed that the girl is between 16 to 17 years of age, prompting her father to express reservations over it and terming the medical report as fake.
The latest medical report concluded that after consultation between medical experts on multiple factors determining her age, it has been agreed that the girl is aged between 15 to 16-year-old.

As a result, netizens are terming the development a win for Dua Zehra’s parents and are claiming that Zaheer Ahmed has been “exposed” since the young couple had been making false statements about Dua Zehra’s age all along. Important to note that the case became controversial due to the contrasting claims. Moreover, the majority of the public believes that this is a case of child trafficking and Dua is being pressurized to give false statements.
