Husband-Wife duo appointed as District Police Chiefs in Balochistan

This appointment not only emphasizes Balochistan Police's commitment to diversifying its leadership but also reflects the strong dedication of these individuals to serving their respective communities.

The talented husband-wife duo made history in Balochistan by being appointed as police chiefs in different districts. The incident has been termed as historic for Balochistan Police.

Dr. Muhammad Sami Malik has been designated as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Naseerabad, while his wife, Faryal Farid, has taken on the role of SSP in Jafarabad.

This appointment not only emphasizes Balochistan Police’s commitment to diversifying its leadership but also reflects the strong dedication of these individuals to serving their respective communities.

Dr. Malik, with an illustrious career in law enforcement, brings a wealth of experience to his role as SSP Naseerabad. Meanwhile, Faryal Farid’s appointment as SSP Jafarabad marks a historic first for the province, shattering gender barriers and serving as an inspiring example for other women aspiring to leadership roles within the police force.

This move is seen as a significant step toward promoting gender balance and fostering an inclusive culture within Balochistan’s law enforcement agencies. Back in 2022, Engineer Ayesha Zehri was appointed as DC Naseerabad by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo. Her appointment came after complaints against the previous official’s negligence and poor performance were received. She previously served as the Assistant Commissioner of Mach Bolan.

Just hours before her promotion, the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif also praised her for the effective role she had played in supporting the flood victims in Mach Bolan.

Furthermore, the DC was also recognized for her struggles and services in Dalbandin by the Premier. While she remained the AC she dissolved many groups involved in the smuggling of narcotics in the province.

Moreover, the prime Minister worked with the DC Ayesha Zehri for the rehabilitation of flood victims in the province where he appreciated the team for working tirelessly to restore the highway in eight hours.
