Imran Khan works only four hours a day: Maryam Nawaz

During her speech, Maryam Nawaz launched a scathing attack on the premier, criticizing his economic and foreign policies. While responding to PM Khan's criticism of her not working for even one hour a day, Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan begins his day at 12 pm.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz hits back at PM Khan criticizing her work ethic. In a retort, the PML-N leader accused the premier of working for a mere four hours a day.

Maryam Nawaz lashed out at PM Imran Khan during a PDM rally in Islamabad. The rally was held a day later in response to PTI’s power show on Sunday.

During her speech, Maryam Nawaz launched a scathing attack on the premier, criticizing his economic and foreign policies. While responding to PM Khan’s criticism of her not working for even one hour a day, Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan begins his day at 12 pm.

“The whole world knows he does not begin his work before 12 pm,” Maryam Nawaz said.

“He winds up work at 4 pm and goes to Bani Gala. No one hears from him until 12 pm the next day,” she further added.

Important to note, it is rather customary for political leaders to take shots at each other during their speeches. In line with this, Maryam Nawaz accused PM Khan of misusing government resources for his public rallies.

She said Imran Khan had used all government machinery and resources for Sunday public gatherings in Islamabad but he could succeed to gather only a few thousand people instead of one million.

She also challenged the premier to amass the support of 172 members in the National Assembly to survive the no-confidence motion instead of boasting about amassing one million people at a rally.

A fake letter?

The PML-N vice president said PM Imran Khan was an “ungrateful” person as he used his party members to save his “sinking ship”.

Maryam said the premier, instead of stepping down from office, sacrificed Usman Buzdar, forcing him to resign from his position as the chief minister. Pertinent to mention, before the PDM rally, the Opposition submitted a no-confidence motion against Usman Buzdar.

A PTI delegation met PML-Q and assured it of support. Shortly after, a PML-Q delegation also met PM Imran Khan at Bani Gala. The prime minister offered Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi the Punjab chief minister’s office. News also broke of Usman Buzdar resigning.

Furthermore, about the letter that the PM had brandished at Sunday’s rally, the PML-N leader said he had shown a fake letter, which even the interior minister was unaware of.

To clarify, during his rally, PM Khan flashed a letter before the public and said that he has “written evidence” that “money has been pouring in from abroad,” while “some of our people are being used to topple the government.”

He said that for months, “plotting and planning is being carried out to influence the foreign policy of Pakistan from outside.”

Moreover, PM Imran said that the country kept receiving threats because of the actions of the previous leaders. On the other hand, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that he knows nothing about the “written letter” received by the premier.
