Indian woman marries Pakistani man after embracing Islam

News Desk |

An Indian woman has married a Pakistani man in Gujranwala after embracing Islam. Formerly known as Tina, the woman has now changed her name to Ayesha.

The woman travelled to Pakistan to marry Suleman hailing from Gujranwala. She left her first husband in India who used to physically abuse and torture her. The woman says, she met Suleman on social media in 2015. They first became friends in 2015 and from there onwards, their relationship began.

“My friendship with Suleman on social media grew into us falling in love with each other,” she said. Suleman said that he has videos in which Tina’s first husband can be seen thrashing the woman. Tina said that she has embraced Islam and has married Suleman out of her free will.

India is the most dangerous country in the world to be a woman because of the high risk of sexual violence and slave labour”, said the international report.

The woman has requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide her the safety and security while Suleman has pleaded Pakistan’s government to provide his wife the nationality of Pakistan.

On the other hand, the Indian government has claimed that Suleman had forced her to accept the religion of Islam and has held her hostage hence Pakistani authorities should take measures of her return to India. The Indian government has claimed that the woman left India in anger. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad has turned down Indian assertion.

In another bizarre episode, the woman was forced to carry her husband on the shoulder as a punishment for love marriage in India. The video shows the woman in 20s carrying the husband on her shoulders in a village as a punishment and was abused and mocked the moment she stopped to breathe.
