Javed Afridi teases spectacular 1500cc MG 6 sedan for Pakistan

The extremely classy sedan MG 6, displayed by Javed Afridi, offers advanced features like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay support and 6 speakers at a highly competitive price!

The Chief Executive Officer of Haier Pakistan and owner of Peshawar Zalmi franchise in Pakistan Super League, Javed Afridi has revealed an all-new MG 6 sedan model of popular China-based British MG Motors, which he presumably intends to launch in the Pakistani auto market real soon.

He asked his followers “What about this model (MG 6) and what price you suggest for Pakistan market?” in a video shared on Twitter featuring a red coloured sedan.

Afridi has been engaged with the British automobile company for quite some time and has frequently expressed intent to bring investment in the country.

The latest video shared on the popular microblogging site Twitter, which features a sedan by MG appears to have been captured by Afridi in an MG Middle East region showroom. The popular businessman is seen sitting in the car showing off the interior until he gets out to show the full outlook of a deep red coloured MG 6.

Features of MG 6

MG 6 comes powered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It has 16-inch alloy wheels which come as standard, along with power windows, power steering, fabric seats, a leather steering wheel, sunroof and rear parking sensors and cameras.

On the infotainment front, it offers a great entertainment experience with advanced features like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay support and 6 speakers.

A trip monitor for you to keep a record of all your distances along with a push start button also comes in the lower trim model. Standard safety features include only one driver airbag and ABS.

Efforts of the businessman

Recently, MG set up its own official website along with social media pages for Pakistan specific information. Auto enthusiasts also witnessed the launch of MG HS which fetched bookings at the toll of 10,000 in the first few hours.

Javed Afridi has played an instrumental role in bringing the British auto manufacturer Morris Garages, popularly known as MG Motors, to Pakistan.

He has recently been involved in a popular social media campaign where he could be seen sitting in the luxurious vehicles, particularly SUVs of the British auto company. He shared glimpses of popular SUVs; MG HS and ZS amid huge fanfare.

Competition 

In December, earlier a Chinese automobile company Changan also expressed desire to launch a 1.4L and 1.5L sedan labelled ‘Alsvin’. The news generated interest in the public, especially when in the sedan segment, diversity of vehicles was a big issue. In this regard, Yaris was a welcome entry too which was reflected in the soaring sales of the mid-range vehicle.

Now it’s yet to be seen if the vehicle is launched in Pakistan how well will it compete against the likes of Yaris, Alsvin and City.
