Jemima raises more than Rs.40 million for flood victims in Pakistan

Notable personalities in the UK attended the event. Fatima Bhutto, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan were in attendance at the event. Other dignitaries also graced the charity event.

Jemima Goldsmith has successfully raised more than Rs.40 million for the flood victims in Pakistan. Jemima along with her brother Ben Goldsmith had organized the event to raise money for the flood victims in Pakistan.

Notable personalities in the UK attended the event. Fatima Bhutto, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan were in attendance at the event. Other dignitaries also graced the charity event.

Jemima Goldsmith shared the picture with Fatima Bhutto and extended her gratitude for providing support for the successful event. The event talked about the devastating floods and how climate change is affecting Pakistan.

“Thank you to @fbhutto for helping with last night’s fundraising event for Pakistan’s flood victims,” said Jemima.

According to Jemima, “The news channels may have moved on but millions of Pakistanis are still in desperate need of support.”

British-Pakistani journalist Ihtisham-ul-Haq also appreciated the work done by Jemima Khan. “Congratulations to @Jemima_Khan & Ben for such a wonderful event. They have raised funds for the people affected by the floods in Pakistan. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has also attended the event. He spoke about climate change, that how Pakistan is being affected the most,” wrote Haq on Twitter.

Jemima has been raising the voice for flood victims in Pakistan since last year.

Back in August, In her tweet, she talked about the adverse impact of climate change on Pakistan. Jemima asked people to pray for Pakistan and said, “33 million in Pakistan were affected by the devastating floods. 1000+ killed. 200K+ homes destroyed in Pakistan produce less than 1% of global carbon emissions. But it’s one of the top 10 countries most affected by the climate crisis.”

She also asked for people to guide her on which organizations to donate to that are doing on-ground relief work. “Which is the best charity to donate to for on-the-ground support,” she asked in another tweet.

Netizens shared the list of the organizations working on the ground and their bank details with Jemima Goldsmith. Some asked her to donate to the relief funds set up by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
