JS Bank becomes the first bank to promote social distancing!

In light of the recent viral outbreak, JS Bank has selflessly waived all their charges on internet, mobile and ATM banking to ensure safety and wellbeing of its customers and employees during coronavirus outbreak.

JS Bank is the first Pakistani Bank to surrender all its transactional charges on ATM, Internet & Mobile Banking in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak. This offer will be valid till 30th April 2020. This exemplary move will allow customers to manage their finances without much human interaction in crowded spaces.

Such a step move will encourage all JS Bank customers to socially distance themselves and avoid visiting branches to curb the spread of deadly virus. Following the announcement, the fastest growing bank received huge appreciation on social site twitter. Soon after, #JSBankcares and #bankfromhome became the top trend in Pakistan.

JS Bank communicated this praiseworthy news, yesterday, through its social media handles. This is a great example, that many should learn from. Big corporations should move towards a community-centric approach instead of an organization-centric approach.

Other safety measures

Moreover, in order to protect its customers and workforce, JS Bank has employed a business continuity plan to fight the spread of this contagious virus. This plan implemented across the board communication of precautionary measures; distributed masks and sanitizers at locations nationwide; disinfected operating locations and implemented thermal screenings for employees, customers and other visitors. In addition, paramedic teams have been deployed nationwide.

In fact, JS Bank has also moved to a skeleton working model with team strengths working on 50% rotations. Digital solutions are also being explored to allow a fully work from home model. This will further decrease chances of transmission of Coronavirus.

In this time of crisis, the coronavirus outbreak has paralyzed economies and has brought the world economic system to its knees. With over 212 positive cases in Pakistan, most of the organizations have diverted towards the agility model. More than 60 companies announced ‘work from home’ for its employees, on Tuesday, to avoid the spread of this deadly virus. However, this list of companies does not include any bank yet, all of them are open and serve as usual.

When customers transition towards paperless banking, it will give further leeway to the bankers to quarantine themselves accordingly. This will allow them to protect themselves and their families. We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy in these tragic times!
