Karachi Police Chief Dr. Amir Shaikh on Thursday, 18th April dismissed Superintendent of Police (SP) Gulshan Tahir Noorani over issuing threats to Nishwa’s father, a minor girl who got paralyzed after criminal negligence of Darul Sehat Hospital, situated in Karachi’s area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Noorani was dismissed in the light of probe report compiled by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Amir Farooqi. He was asked to report at the police lines.

On the other hand, AIG Karachi has also penned a letter to IGP Sindh Kaleem Imam, urging him to take departmental action against Noorani over threatening the affected family.

My daughter was paralyzed after they (hospital staff) put my daughter on a ventilator for over a week and then removed her from the machine on early Sunday morning, the father explained.

Tahir Noorani was seen in video footage purportedly threatening family to withdraw the case against the hospital administration and telling them ‘the hospital wouldn’t suffer, you will bear the brunt of problems…”

Instead of taking action against the culprits, SP Gulshan Tahir Noorani threatened the father, Qaiser Ali, with severe consequences over raising his voice against criminal negligence of the hospital administration which paralyzed the little girl.

The Karachi Police on Monday, 14th April, jotted a case of attempt to murder against the administration of the private hospital.
