Me and my sons are half Pakistani: Jemima Khan

She said the film is not the story of her life in Pakistan but is inspired by the characters she met in the country during her stay.

Jemima Goldsmith talking about her upcoming film,’ What’s Love Got To Do With It’ says she and her sons are half Pakistani.

She passed these statements while talking on the red carpet of the Toronto International Film Festival. Jemima was asked about her inspiration behind the movie; she said she lived in Pakistan for ten years, and her sons were born there. Jemima added that she came to Pakistan when she was 20 years old and left around 30; she and her sons are half Pakistanis.

She said the film is not the story of her life in Pakistan but is inspired by the characters she met in the country during her stay.

Former prime minister Imran Khan married Jemima Goldsmith when she was 21 only, and he was 43. The marriage did not last after a political smear campaign against her after Imran Khan entered politics. The couple parted ways and the children went to stay with their mother, Jemima.

Earlier, a video of her emerged on social media in which she was seen talking about her love for Pakistan. An interesting conversation happened between her and a Twitter user. A Twitter user posted her video of her old interview with Hamid Mir on Geo. In the interview, Jemima said she “Loves Pakistan though it’s a maddening place sometimes. Goldsmith said that she spent ten years of her life in Pakistan. It is like growing up here. Pakistan is in her soul and also the country of her children.

Jemima said she still feels the same for Pakistan while commenting on the video. Jemima talks about Pakistan frequently on her social media, showing her love for the country and its people.

Jemima Goldsmith had announced to auction the private screening of her movie ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It to help the flood victims in Pakistan.
