Pakistani singer-actor, Meesha Shafi, denied the reports of her wish to date Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam.

In an Instagram post, Shafi denied the baseless claims associated with her last week. An Instagram fan page of Azam had claimed in a post that Shafi has expressed her fondness for the cricket and that she is eager to date him.

“I always stick to the television when he is batting, and when he gets out, I switch my television off,” the post read, adding, “I would love to date him, I just love him.”

Later the singer took to Instagram and said, “I have no idea who this is and why it exists.” She added, “It makes zero sense, 100% concocted out of thin air. This quote is fabricated.” She also tagged Instagram and asked them to take down the post.

The Pakistani cricketer trended atop on social media last week, following the conclusion of Pakistan Super League matches in Karachi. He was even declared the Man of the Match for his stellar half-ton. He also became the only player to win the award in two consecutive playoff matches in a single edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Azam had scored a 63-runs knock to spearhead his team at a 135-runs chase. Azam racked up a total of 473 runs, scored by any batsmen in a single edition of the tournament. He broke the record of Islamabad United’s Luke Ronchi.

He even struck a total of 163 fours in the Pakistan Super League, the most by any player in the league. Babar overtook the 4-hitting record of the Peshawar Zalmi’s Kamran Akmal (158).

Azam had led his team, to maiden victory. Pakistan Cricket Board has even announced to make him the captain for all the formats.
